Product Dimensions

80cc engine kit is about 8.5" height 7" length 5" width. Kit fits on standard 25mm to 29mm frame tube. Larger frame size requires drilling into bike frame and use the universal face plate. Ensure proper fit by reviewing the minimum dimension requirements diagram on the right.

CNS Carburetor upgrades will require extra matierial to fit flush around the manifold. This can be remedied by wrapping the manifold with electric tape or using PVC to fill in the gap between the carburetor port and the maifold.

Disclosure of accurate engine size: While we have chosen to use the long standing factory branding engine size of "80cc", the true displacement of the bicycle engine is 66cc. Down through the years China bicycle engine manufactures have advertised their biggest engine as 80cc, therefore we have listed them in the same way on our website. However, the bore and stroke of an 80cc being 47x38mm equals 66cc. Therefore the true displacement of the 80cc bike motor is 66cc. In the west, the volume of a cylinder is calculated by using the formula Volume = Pi x Radius Squared x Stroke. However,in the east the displacement of an engine includes the area of the cylinder head's combustion chamber as well as the volume of the cylinder. As such, there lies a discrepancy between measuring standards by the manufactures in China with those in the United States. As such, all "80cc" engine kits on the market today are actually 66cc in displacement size if measuring by US standards. .

Texas Review by Gary
These kits are awesome, I have just put my 6000th mile on it, the only thing I have replaced is the coil. great little machine. (Posted on 4/27/15)
bought the 4 stroke instead. Review by buddy
never rode the two stroke. too finicky. opted for the clutch/idle value in the cadilac design 49cc 4 stroke. ride it every day now, street legal by desgn, no fudging needed. totally removed pedals and redesigned them as parralel footrests. stop and start in traffic without pedal power. yes it is pull start, like my lawnmower, but so what, it needs no pedal power ever.

5 Stars Review by Cale
The engine kit is mostly common sense. If you've ever put together a lego without the instructions then this engine kit is a breeze. I know nothing about any type of engines at all got the kit on in 4 hours. I have had the engine for a month it's my new daily driver. I have 2200 miles on it and am performing a few upgrades on it. Thanks BikeBerry! (Posted on 9/5/13)
Loads of fun, gets lots of praises and second looks ... Review by bongerts61
I am giving this an overall rate of 4 stars. Read my review ...
Received my package on time(5 stars on that). Dove into it right away, lined up the pieces and parts. I was missing the Universal U-bolt that I requested to come with the package so I had to run to the nearest parts store nearest me(3 stars on that). Installed everything, motor, plugs, exhaust, chains etc. So, with my not so limited mechanical and electrical ability, had it going after several tweeks and adjustments. Took me all of approximately a total of 18 to 20 man hours of work. (I worked on it on and off). The video instructions is quite helpful to those who have intermediate to advanced mechanical/electrical knowledge but to the regular Joe with limited know how, I think the video instructions needs to be edited and added more detailed explanations on the "how to" part. Written instruction is even more vague than the video(3 stars on that). Otherwise, with a few tweeks and adjustments all is well. My motorized bike project is still running and still being tweeked but I am having LOADS OF FUN, irregardless. If you have the time and patience then this is a fun project for you. It was for me !!! (and finally 5 stars on the fun part) (Posted on 6/28/13)
A fast & fun project! Review by cogdoc
Installed this kit for my brother-in-law and was reluctant to see it go. Install instructions were easy to follow even with coaster brake modifications. It started on the very 1st try. I put about 15 kilometers on it before I had to give it up. Now I want one. Wish you would include 49cc decals (2) to put on the engine sides to ease the deputy's concern about it being legal.
49cc is the legal limit in this state for mopeds & motorized bikes. Lights & rear view mirror are required. (Posted on 4/17/13)
Great motor Review by Ron
This a good strong motor, I don't hear alot of people talking about it on the forum but I couldn't be happier with the motor performance. I kept hearing everyone talking about changing the sparkplug to the NGK brand, so I bought one at Advance Auto however I also bought an Autolite 275 and my motor runs so muhis brand of ch better than the junk stock (although I did get about 600 miles on it before I switched). Go buy the Autolite 275 as soon as you can, trust me it is well worth the huge $2.35 I paid for it. I had to replace the clutch pads at about 1200 miles, I don't know if the pads got worn quickly because of their quality (ceramic) or because of the way I drove the bike for the first few hundred miles while I got used to riding it. Thank you Bikeberry! Review by butch
Couldn't be happier. I got my kit with a quickness and

What size is the drive chain? Review by Friendly Lunatic
This was my first build and it was an easy Sunday project. The motor runs great but when I had to shorten the chain after a couple hundred miles I didn't get the master link reinstalled correctly (I blame the fading light). I need a new master link but don't know if it's a #410 or #415 chain. What size chain is included with this kit? (Posted on 8/21/12)

Great buy! Review by Ezra Hawkins
This was my first build. everything went smoothly including post-build. Thanks. (Posted on 8/14/12)
engine ok but Review by joanne
we bought one of these engines and it runs good but the chain was put on like it was suppose to be but it came off and wrapped into the back spokes causing the bike to wreck and the motor is so hot it caused 3rd degree burns on my husbands leg it is a good motor but the thing really needs some kind of heat shield for your legs and could use a better chain that dont break so easy. but for what it is it is a good motor just be careful of burns it will burn even threw long pants (Posted on 8/12/12)
Great kit! Engine just needs a couple rides to get running then starts up everytime. Review by Ron

This is definitely the best engine that Grubee has ever made. Its the ONLY engine on the market that has the steel sleeve engine cylinder! It makes a HUGE difference; the engine will last twice as long. (Posted on 3/26/12)

Q: my manual says hookup white wire to red and yellow both have male connecters how is this done ? blue went to blue black and green to black thanks

Posted On: 7/17/14 By: david loehr

A: Thank you for contacting us here at BikeBerry.com, and appreciate your great question! If you would choose to use the white wire with the multicolored wire on your kill-switch we would recommend cutting off the end connectors and splice the wires together. However if you would feel more comfortable you can splice the multicolored wire with the blue wires and you do not need to use the wire, some people are choosing to cut it off entirely or just zip tie it to your bike frame. Please feel free to contact with any further questions, we work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
Q: Will this kit fit on the Micargi Low Rider f4? Here's the link- http://www.bikeberry.com/20-micargi-low-rider-f4.html

Posted On: 7/14/14 By: Grant Bruehl

A: That is a great question that will help a lot of our customer's who have similar concerns. Unfortunately, no this bike would not be compatible with our engine kits, if you are capable of getting it to fit, it will require from moderate to sever modification, which would void the bikes 30 day warranty. The bikes that we have tested and can guarantee will work with our engine kits will be under our Motorized Bicycle DIY tab, if there is any that are marked as out of stock it is due to either being literally out of stock or that bike no longer works with our engine kits. Please feel free to contact us with any further question or concerns you may have, we work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
Q: What is the gas/oil mixture ratio please. I just got one of these already done. But not sure what the fuel should be. Thanks.

Posted On: 6/19/14 By: boxer

A: The break in period is the first 3-4 tank fulls of gas at a ratio of 16:1-18:1, or 7-8 ozs of ooil to 1 gallon of gas. For the rest of the motor's life you will want to use a 20:1-24:1 ratio, about 5-6 ozs of oil to 1 gallon of gas. We recommend using a synthetic blend oil specifically for 2-stroke use, however please make sure it does not say marine use on it. We appreciate you contacting us here at BikeBerry.com with your question!
Q: Does the engine make the bike vibrate a lot?

Posted On: 5/4/14 By: john

A: Any of the engine naturally do cause vibrations, so yes this cause the bike to vibrate. Some motors will vibrate more then others and there are some modifications that can help reduce this. Some would include wrapping cut piece of old tire inner tubes, leather strips or even old pieces of rags, wrap them around the frame in-between the mounts and this will help reduce the vibrations. We also carry a product called the JNM vibration motor mounts and these help extend the reach of the motor and they also help dull out some of the vibrations. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns you may have, we work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
Q: Can i lower and raise the throttle, or is it only full throttle and engine off?

Posted On: 5/4/14 By: john

A: The throttle for our engine kits will be a twist grip handle. You do not have to go full throttle, and it is not recommended to do, you can choose to twist the throttle only half way or 3/4's of the way. The housing that helps contain the throttle in place would be the kill switch and it does have a kill button. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns, we work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
