This works well Review by Michael Taylor
This works well, but the plug wire is rather short, and the boot and clip stink. I like this CDI though because the wire is not glued in, so you can just unscrew it and get a better one, as long as you want. Do not overtighten the screws to the little metal mounting bracket, or you'll crack the housing! Best to use double sided CB radio tape, then ziptie it. (Posted on 3/21/12)

Q: What should the ohms be when testing and CDI ignition coil with my ohmmeter?

Posted On: 6/30/14 By: josh

A: That is a great question! When you are using an ohm meter at a 2k setting your CDI should be reading between 6-8 ohms. You can also check out our electrical testing video on YouTube.com, if you search our name BikeBerry in their search bar our video channel will come up, click on that and then you would want to watch the video labeled as how to test your electrical parts. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns, we work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
Q: Hi I have a two stroke engine bike and the bike got wet I already dried up inside and carburetor I else replaced coil magneto and spark plug but still the bike wont start can you please tell me what can I do to solve the problem. Thanks

Posted On: 5/21/14 By: Hector M

A: That is a very common concern that you are having and we appreciate you contacting us here at BikeBerry.com! Typically if you have replaced all the electrical and you are still having issues with the motor starting, you will want to make sure that your spark plug is at .025" gap, and you will want to cut of the brass connector pieces at the end of the wire and splice your wires together instead. If you still are not getting spark check to make sure the black ground wire for the magneto loop set has a metal on metal ground connection or use an OHM meter to test the CDI and Magneto for their readings. Please fee free to contact us Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST, at 1.800.317.0479.
Q: Hi, I think I have a problem, when I unpluged my CDI a spring and brass peice fell out of the plug. I was thinking about saudering it back in, what should i do?

Posted On: 10/29/13 By: Brandon Jackson

A: I would recommend purchasing a new spark plug cap, they are on our site for $2.95 + shipping, you can also get them at most local auto part shops.
Q: If magneto is good and spark plug is good, yet no spark is achieved, can the problem be something other than the CDI?

Posted On: 4/10/13 By: Bob

A: If you are experiencing difficulties with your electrical components, the issue can only be within the 3 items of CDI, spark plug and magneto. If one of these units has gone out, it will cause no spark throughout the rest. We can recommend testing your CDI with an OHM's meter either at home or at your local auto parts store. Your CDI should give you a reading of "7". If a different reading is reached, please give us a call here at 1-800-317-0479 so that we may better assist you.
