Despite its considerable power, it runs quietly and smoothly. The limitations here are weight and size, as the motor generates power from large magnets within. Furthermore, compared to a geared motor with a freewheel arrangement, the magnets may cause some drag when coasting or pedaling without assistance. It also does not use regenerative braking, which some other gearless systems do.

The Revi 500W Oasis Commuting Step-Thru Electric Bike comes with a 15ah Samsung removable battery. The lithium battery charger takes 4 to 6 hours to charge a dead lithium battery fully. The motor is powered by a battery pack with 12 amps of power and 48 volts. Ultimately, you get power and a good range, but you can only use it with a twist throttle (which is part of why the range on this bike is kind of average). The pack can be taken off and feels pretty solid, but the rack it attaches to is high and stiff, which makes it harder to carry. The pack is supported by two struts, which helps keep it from getting loose over time.

When you only use the twist throttle, while riding your Revi Bikes, the fat tire might give you the impression that you are riding a motorcycle (no pedaling required). It has the appearance and feels of a motorcycle due to the stitched faux-leather throttle grip that is situated on the right side of the handlebar. The Oasis Commuting Step-Thru is ideal for off-road excursions and will provide you with hours of riding enjoyment because of its fat tires that measure 4 inches in diameter.
