When I bought the 37.7 cc four stroke engine I bought it because it was under 49 cc thinking it was street legal. Did you know you have to have a license to ride this thing around? State law says 30.1 cc and under is legal 30.1 cc up to 49 cc is considered a moped, and 49 cc and above is considered a motorcycle I got pulled over by the police here in my town and got a ticket for driving while suspended, which is gonna cost me a good chunk of change, had I known this was gonna happen. I would’ve never bought it in the first place.

Installation was fairly simple...bike scoots down the road nice!

Easy to install. Got it put together in an hour or 2. Very easy and basic. Ride it a few times now, fun. Gas friendly and well built. Love this kit.

I wasn’t for sure this would work but the price point made it worth a try. It works great! I never got the instructions but it’s pretty simple to figure out. Very happy.

The engine should come with printed instructions, the rear braces have to be modified to fit almost every application, the rear braces should have a clear mark to indicate correct positioning rather then the less then obvious "slight angle facing forward" wording, I was expecting an engine literally over the rear wheel (not hanging to one side thus requiring more storage space). Now the whole thing sits on a shelf until I have time and patience to design and install it with modifications. Another online mistake purchase.

Good motor

Being a big guy, I should’ve got a much larger motor. I think I’ll get the 80 cc this time. It works it just takes a little bit of peddling to get it going. Motor runs really good. For someone that’s about 150 pounds to maybe 180 would work OK.

I got the engine kit and then changed my mind and decided to go electric so I am selling kit in my area

Everything was in the kit. The spacers for the mount were upgraded. I had to drill new holes in the brackets to accommodate the tall tire I’m using. Motor runs great.

It rides good

Every thing was included motor seems well made other than a few spacers that I think should have been included but the friction drive assembly on one of the kits was not assembled properly in the way that one of the bearings was bad rite out of the box making a grinding noise before any assembly of the kits glad I ordered 2 to make sure I got at least 1 working kit I didn't see any way to report faulty parts on the order

Like the simplicity should have purchased 49cc

Easy to assemble into the bicycle. The assembly video is vague on how to assemble the locking bar that fastens the roller assembly onto their tire ( or suspends it). The engine runs like a dream! Very quiet after years of riding my 2 stroke. The power is at the top end of acceleration and it runs fast! You have to peddle when going up steep hills. Delivered with a crack on the plastic housing. Otherwise I am happy with the product. It is on the bike I use for my commute to work 4 miles away! Reliable starts!

The Lock and load unit is nice and easy to install. The customer service was great. Alvin was a big help with the replacement part of the order. I would gladly order again in the future. Thank you Bikeberry. Sam.

Awesome Friction Drive Kit I highly recommend this engine kit. I just recently turned 50 years old and I’ve been riding a bike back and forth to work every day for the past 4 years and it’s around 5 miles one way. Turning 50 I noticed that my body wasn’t liking the ride to work. I started doing research on bike engine kits and found this one to be a good investment for me. It was easy to install and it’s been a great workhorse getting me to work. I highly recommend this engine kit.

Easy fast installation So my review of this nice piece of machinery...easy installation.when i first got this kit i noticed it came with a backup gas tank! (Really cool and can come in handy).all bolts and assembly pieces were well packaged and in great condition.it was a bit difficult to get the side brackets to fit properly because the cutout slots were barely enough to run the quick release bar through it.meaning the output shaft will still rub the 26"" wheel.(a little filing fixed that).after that everything came second nature and finished my build in 30 mins!!! Wow!!! Overall i give this product a fair 4.5 stars only because the torque and speed were average.but hey its a 38cc so thats just right for a decent commute.thanks bikeberry!

CA legal if you do the homework... Got this a few months ago and it is a blast. Fit's the CA code for a true motorized bicycle so it can keep you legal. Best speed I have on flat ground is 29 mph which keeps you under the legal ""CA"" limit of 30. I have over 100 miles on the bike around town and use it as my ""fun"" run for shopping or dining.I followed the law and now have my plate showing me legal. When I'm stopped at signal lights I get lots of questions and refer everyone to Bikeberry.com.

Best setup If you want a bike where looks are more important than functionality, get one of the mid-engine setups.However, if you want one to actually ride and depend on (commute, run errands, etc) then this is by far the best setup (rear mount friction drive).Why?This setup is so simple and if you want to ride the bike without using the motor (on a bike trail where motors aren't allowed, in heavy traffic, etc) you can simple loosen the lock and raise the whole motor off the wheel.Then you have your conventional bike to ride with ZERO friction.With the other setups, even when the motor is off you are still dragging the extra friction of the 2nd chain, the clutch on the motor, etc.I've been riding my rear engine friction bike now for about 3-4 years with zero problems.This is by far the easiest way to have a motor assisted bike that works very well.
